Congress and 6th

One direction down this cross street will take you to the Capitol building. The other direction will take you to frat guys and binge drinking.

Sara Bareilles and her band

I wish I could have brought in my Nikon, but they only allow point-and-shoot and camera phones in the venue. I was still able to pull this beautiful shot of Sara and her band during "Vegas." The concert was absolutely amazing, and she both sounded and looked beautiful. She is also very funny and is probably one of the more entertaining acts I’ve ever seen.

At one point she was talking about how weird it would be if she were a violent person, and how she would get into fights. I yelled out "You’d kick their asses, Sara!" and she said "Damn right I would!" Later I made a "heart hand" and she saw it, smiled at me, and made a "heart hand" of her own. I could seriously die right now a happy man.

Nature versus Power

I played with the layers in Photoshop this time. 3 layers – bottom had the shadows and highlights brought up, second layer was desaturated with the hard light effect, and third with a high guassian blur with soft light effect. I’ve tried this process on some other photos, but it comes out looking a little ugly. I was happy with this one.

Want to say a very special THANK YOU to Cecily who sponsored my Flickr Pro account. Thanks!!

No Mail On Sunday

No Mail On Sunday, originally uploaded by Sean Loyless.

It’s rare that I mail anything out that isn’t a Netflix envelope nowadays. I use the internet to pay all my bills, so the process of actually getting a stamp and mailing something out is quite a task.

This picture is significant because this mailbox contains the signed lease agreement for my third year at my house — the longest I’ve lived in any one residence since I moved to San Antonio almost five years ago.

I was happy with the old dilapidated grays and faded red of the mailbox contrasted against the deep blues and greens of the landscape behind it in this photo.

Sad Cartoon versus Technology

I doodle these little "Sad Cartoons" featuring characters that look like this fellow; always depressed about whatever is going on, even if it’s a happy situation.

I thought for this week’s 365 Project Technology Theme competition I should introduce him to the inside of a computer and see if he was any happier.

The answer was "no."

This was the shot I picked to submit.
